Ribbon architecture is the term that is used to describe the way in which the walls, floors, and roof come together within my buildings to form a single, self-supporting but interlinked structure. Such a construction ensures a continued sense of movement and momentum, as the spaces flow into one another.
The same principle can also be observed in the hardware series that was designed by Bob Manders, which is also named RIBBON.
RIBBON is a collection of hardware accessories, including door handles, window handles, pull handles, and cabinet hardware designed by Dutch top designer Bob Manders.
The design is unique, especially in the way in which the parts are welded together as one piece. Traditional handles are always made out of three pieces: the rose, the neck, and the lever. In this case these three parts are made out of one single piece, creating a truly unique design with a unique bayonet fixation system.
